Mary Kathleen Martin

Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry

 

Mary Kathleen (Kate) Martin is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with a diverse history in nursing for the past 20 years.  She received her Master's degree in Adult Health from Stony Brook University in 2010.  She received her Post Master's Certificate in Psychiatry from Stony Brook in 2015.  Kate has practiced at South Shore Neurology and most recently, East End Family Practice in Riverhead.  She was also recently affiliated with East End Mental Health in Hampton Bays. She is on staff at Northwell Health/ PBMC and is currently providing a lecture series on Psychiatry for the Resident Physicians. Her current community focus includes managing mental health in the Post-Covid Pandemic environment including the increase in depression and anxiety throughout all spectrums of the lifespan.  Specializing in medication management for diagnoses including Bipolar Disorders, Dementia, ADHD and Spectrum Disorders is in her scope of practice with the ultimate goal of helping you manage your mental health so that you can live your best life.

Lara McNeil

Nutrition and Dietetics Professional

 

Lara McNeil, MS, RDN, CDN is a nutrition and dietetics professional with a Masters of Science in Nutrition from Stony Brook University’s School of Medicine where she also completed her Dietetic Internship with a Clinical Nutrition emphasis.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Kansas State University.  As a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, she keeps up to date with the latest nutrition research and continuing education to enhance her knowledge and skills. Lara is also certified by the State of New York as a Dietitian-Nutritionist, holds an advanced certificate of training in Adult Weight Management, and is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators.

Alisa Norton

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

LCSW, CASAC-t, EMDR, CBT, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction

Alisa Norton is a Psychotherapist who has been practicing for over 11 years. Her specialty is in working with people affected by Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Life Changes and Grief.  She currently facilities a Support Group for those who have lost a loved one to Suicide. Additionally, she has received her certification in EMDR and is certified in treating those suffering from PTSD. Alisa follows the Strengths Perspective Treatment Modality and implements Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while cultivating a safe environment for you to heal.

Maryann LaRosa

Maryann received her LSW degree from SUNY Stony Brook in 1994 and has been in private practice since 1996. She specializes in Substance Abuse, Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and general mental health issues. She is certified in EMDR therapy and is an OASIS provider, conducting intake screenings.

Louise Abitbol

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Louise is a graduate of the NYU Silver School of Social Work practicing for over 20 years in New York City, Shelter Island, Riverhead and Mattituck. She has a Post Masters Degree in International Trauma with past practice in Child Advocacy, Refugee Victims of the Blood Diamond War and Recovery for Victims of 9/11. She has extensive work with local governments in providing advocacy to families and clients caught in the legal system. She is published in the Journal of Psychosocial Nursing for her Interaction Between Veterans and Horses. Currently, Louise practices from a holistic approach, which creates the courage to embrace life’s conflicts and our humanity. The inclusion of Equine Enlightened therapy adds bravery, awareness and trust to enrich pathways of thinking. This work takes place in Riverhead in collaboration with an Equestrian Rescue. She has become an advocate for Veterans engaging in Nursing Education and is currently working on the development of restorative programs with Stony Brook University. She continues private Supervision Practice for Social Workers attaining their certifications. She also engages in the tradition of Eastern Medicine including Tai Chi, Mindfulness, Energy work and Emotional Freedom Tapping.
